Previously, we had made our readers aware of some useful features which are present on the Amazon Prime Video
OTT application, but they were not known by many users (Article link attached below). For instance, the ‘X-Ray’ feature, ‘Hide a Title’ feature, and the ‘Watch Party’ feature, etc.
But this time, we will talk about a feature which is sorely missed on the Amazon Prime Video app, and which is being offered by its rival OTT platform Netflix. We are talking about the ‘Upcoming Movies & Series’ section, a feature which is conspicuous by its absence on the Amazon Prime Video app.
After a new movie releases on Amazon Prime Video, the title is displayed under the ‘Latest Movies’ or ‘New Release Movies’ section on the app. But before that, there is no sign of the title on the Prime Video app.
This is unlike the Netflix mobile app, where there is a separate and very useful section called ‘New & Hot’ through which OTT audiences can check which movies and series are coming soon on the streaming platform. The menu is easily accessible from the Netflix app’s home page.
So, it would be great if the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform too could add a similar menu which would enable its subscribers to know about the forthcoming movies and shows’ release dates beforehand. What’s the harm in letting OTT viewers know what kind of entertainment is in store for them in the near future on Amazon Prime Video? It can easily be done for already announced release dates for their original shows and movies along with the upcoming acquired licensed titles.
Moreover, the potential ‘Coming Soon’ section can also include upcoming releases on Prime Video Channels like Lionsgate Play, AMC+, and Hoichoi, amongst others. So, Amazon Prime Video – the ball is in your court now!
