The official trailer for ‘Uunchai‘ is out now. It is written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya and he is coming back after a long gap. Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Danny Denzongpa lead the cast while Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta play other important roles. The movie will hit theaters on the 11th of November.
‘Uunchai’ tells the story of a very heartwarming friendship. Danny Denzongpa’s character who has a desire to climb Mount Everest his whole life suddenly dies without fulfilling that desire. His three friends played by Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani decide to fulfill his wish. They decide to climb Mount Everest against all odds. They lie to their families, start training hard, and ignore every word that can discourage them, only for friendship. We will have to see the film to know what happens in the end. Do they succeed in their adventure! Do they all come back alive and fit!
The trailer gives a vibe somewhat similar to Anupam Kher’s 2014 film ‘The Shaukeens’. Both these films are about celebrating youth in old age. But ‘Uunchai’ has a far more serious and spiritual approach. Climbing Everest is not a physical feat only. It is a journey within, it is a battle with the weaknesses in oneself. The thing is how better can Sooraj Barjatya portray all the emotions and dilemmas in the film. He has made a name in family and friendship films. Adventure is not something he has dealt with before. This movie can be termed as a friendship movie therefore.
