Vaazhai by Mari Selvaraj is what one can call a ‘mundane epic’. The movie was one of the most anticipated movies of this month. The response it received was not different from what one could have expected. The movie has received a collection of about 7.7 crores in just 3 days and now is on the verge of crossing the mark of 10 crores despite being released in Tamil only.
The movie talks about a young school-going boy who is burdened under multiple struggles of life. His interactions in school, his relation with his school teacher, his relation with his friend have all been portrayed so beautifully. The movie is made in such a way that it makes the minute and personal things relatable to things beyond our control and to macro-level politics is really commendable. The movie is being celebrated by audiences throughout India and its success increases day by day.
The movie collected about 1.15 crores on the first day of release, on the second day, it saw an unbelievable increase by 117% to a collection of 2.5 crores. The collection on the third day saw once again an increase of 60% of 4 crores. Now also the movie continues to earn more and more and is on the verge of crossing the line of 10 crores.
The movie was released at a time when movies like Thangalaan and Demonte Colony 2 were already in theatres and earning quite good. Still Vaazhai managed to steal the show and impressed the audience to create a huge profit. The movie now eyes to go ahead of its competitors and be the new favourite film in Tamil language for this month.
