Vaibhav Reddy starrer Buffoon has locked its release date on Netflix India. The Tamil action crime film will arrive on the streaming platform on October 14. It was released theatrically on September 23 this year and opened to mixed critical and audience responses.
The film’s plot commences with Rangarajan confronting the party and the CM for the MLA seat. He doesn’t want his rival to be a part of the game. Also, he warns to form a separate political party if the CM fails to fulfil his wishes. This scenario enrages the party leader and he starts going after Rangarajan and his people.
First, the CM goes after Dhanapalan, Rangarajan’s muscle. Our protagonist, Kumaran, accepts the job of a driver with his friend, Muthaiya. Both are talented koothu artistes in the film. Somehow, police arrest them due to their accidental involvement in an illegal drug case. They begin to portray Kumaran as the mysterious Dhanapalan. However, the duo barely manages to escape from the police. A team of cops, led by SP Haridas, is dead set on finding both of them to aid CM’s political game. What will happen to Kumaran? Buffoon marked the directional debut of Ashok Veerappan. He also penned down the film’s script. Additionally, Mahaan and Navarasa fame, Karthik Subbaraj, co-produced the film with Jayaram, Sudhan Sundaram, and Kaarthekeyen Santhanam under the banner of Stone Bench Films and Passion Studios. Apart from Vaibhav Reddy, the film stars Anagha, Anthakudi Ilayaraja, Aadukalam Naren, Joju George, V. I. S. Jayapalan, and many more performers. It will release on Netflix India on October 14.
