Varmaa Film Dropped: Vikram Cited As ‘Father of the Year’!!!

Bala’s version of the Tamil remake for ‘Arjun Reddy’ has dropped and twitter has been quite “vocal” in expressing their disappointment. The original released film was titled ‘Adithya Varma’ and the new one is called ‘Varmaa’ and netizens have been quick to call out their differences.

The hashtag #Varmaa was used to promote the film, but it has backfired on the filmmakers quite badly. If they had been hoping for the hashtag to be trending, then mission accomplished, #Varmaa is trending quite well; just for all the wrong reasons. Most of twitter have called out the cast and director, calling the film worthless.

Bala had directed this version of the film and after the entire film was viewed during the film’s post-production stage, Superstar Vikram (father of the male lead in the film) along with the production house decided to scrap the nearly completed film. The film was then remade from scratch, keeping only the lead actor and music composer. For this act alone, Vikram has been hailed as ‘Father of the Year’ by multiple twitter users.

Another source has cited “that a lot of ‘bold scenes’ turned out to be crass, with dialogues and acting were below-par”. A different source had said that “Dhruv had made a great escape”. Many of the tweets are hilarious and typing them out will not do them any justice. Read the rest of them down below.

The film ‘Varmaa’ follows Adithya Varma, the wayward son of a businessman, who is also a third year medicine student. He tries to turn over a new leaf after he falls for Meera Shetty. However, caste issues derail their love life and appear to darken Adithya’s future. Watch the film on demand on the Simply South App for Rs. 140.
