Varun Dhawan’s ’Baby John’ Delayed & It’s A Good Sign!

Recently there has been a lot of release date announcements, postponements and date changes for upcoming films. The latest to join the list is Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ that has got a jump of around six months.

These modifications in release dates for films might upset some but in overview it’s a positive sign for the film industry. After the slowdown that happened during pandemic, the entertainment industry is now picking up strongly and these clashes in release dates is just the reflection of that.

A healthy competition is always great and also significant for growth specially in terms of quality. While the first half 2024 hadn’t had much to offer, the second half looks extremely promising with a very busy lineup.

As for ‘Baby John’, the film is an adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film ‘Theri’ which itself was inspired by Mani Ratnam’s ‘Chatriyan’ (1990). It is an action drama film that follows Baby John, a former police officer, who fakes his death and goes into hiding to bring up his daughter in a safe environment, but trouble ensues when their life gets threatened by Baby John’s past enemies and he must face his past to protect his daughter.

‘Baby John’ is directed by Kalees with a story by Atlee and stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, and Sheeba Chaddha in prominent roles. Sanya Malhotra will make a special appearance in the film.

Atlee, Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani and Jyoti Deshpande are the producers for ‘Baby John’. Thaman S has composed music for the film with cinematography by Kiran Kaushik and editing by Ruben.

Produced by Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios and A For Apple Productions, ‘Baby John’ will arrive in theatres worldwide on 25th December, 2024 and will clash with Amir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh starrer ’Sitaare Zameen Par’.
