Varun Dhawan’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo Next To Halt Shoot Amidst Covid-19 Surge

Varun Dhawan is probably one of the busiest men in Bollywood at the moment. He has a few movies coming up and also some are underway as the shoots for those movies are getting completed. Not only Varun Dhawan, but many other actors have their movies right now in development. While many are being shot, some on other hands are getting into post production.

But, right now everything feels like it needs to stop. Reason? The 2nd wave of Covid-19 in India. One cannot deny how massive this is and how rapidly it has been growing and spreading. India most definitely is facing one of the biggest crises at the moment. With thousands of cases coming up everybody, it only seems right at the moment to take the decisions of movie shoots and productions being halted.

The most recent movie to halt and delay its shoot is Varun Dhawan’s upcoming movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo. The movie stars Kiara Advani opposite Varun. The director of the movie today has confirmed that the upcoming 2nd schedule of the movie is currently on hold owing to the severe surges in the Covid-19 cases. Also the second part of the schedule was supposed to be in Mumbai and with the Maharashtra government imposing Janata Curfew, the makers have officially taken the decision to delay the schedule.

This is not just the case for Jug Jugg Jeeyo as many others still undergoing shoots, have decided to halt for some time. Many have still maintained the fact that the shoots are going on with Covid-19 protocols intact. Recently, there was news that few workers from the sets of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie “Pathan” has contracted Covid-19 and the shoot has now been halted. Along with it, South’s superstar Prabhas’ movie “Radhe Shyam” too has halted the shoot as a make-up artist reportedly has contracted the virus.

The stars are not the only ones that work on the sets; there are so many people that put in their hard work to bring up a movie. Continuing shoots in these severe times can only mean that they are putting so many others at risk. There are definitely factors of going through losses when the shoots are delayed but it can be well established that prioritising lives is way bigger than anything else at the moment.
