The highly anticipated Varun Tej action thriller, Ghani, has got its final release date. The movie is expected to release on the second week of April now, after its earlier release date of Feb 25th had to be postponed for another Telugu film, Bheemla Nayak. With the Covid situation being highly irregular within the country, many films have been shifting around their release dates, which is what happened to Ghani and Bheemla Nayak.
Ghani was expected to release back in July 2021, before the second wave of the coronavirus caused statewide lockdowns for a few weeks within Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This also caused many theatres in both states to be closed down for a couple of months. The film went on to have multiple release dates including one in November 2021, one in December 2021 and the recently postponed February 2022 one before it finally got the April release date.
And Ghani is not the only big-budget film that faced this issue. The highly anticipated Kannada film, K.G.F: Chapter 2, and Tamil feature film, Beast, all had earlier release dates, but have now settled for an April theatrical release – just like Ghani. With all three films releasing within six days apart from each other, it will be an “interesting rumble in the South Indian box office jungle”. With no official trailer out yet for Ghani, hopefully, we will see more promos during this 30 day+ period.
Varun Tej’s Ghani will release in theatres around the globe on April 8th 2022. The aforementioned films, K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Beast, will both premiere in theatres on April 14th 2022. Check out the teaser for Ghani below:
