Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu To Stream On This OTT Platform

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on October 13. The Silambarasan starrer was released in theatres on September 15. It received highly positive critical and audience reception and became a financial success at the box office. The makers have already confirmed that the sequel is currently under development.

The film’s plot revolves around Muthu, a B. Sc graduate who lives with his mother Aaruthira in a small village in Tamil Nadu. His aggressive behaviour forces his mother to send him to his uncle Chermadurai in Mumbai. His uncle finds him a job. However, things get complicated after his uncle is found dead in his room after committing suicide. Before meeting his death, Chermadurai told Muthu to post a letter.

Instead of posting the letter, Muthu starts working in a parotta store, run by Esakki. He also falls in love with Paavai. Soon, Muthu learns that Esakki works with Gaarji, a gangster, and his boss, Kutty Bhai. A series of unexpected events get him involved in the underground activities of Mumbai’s Tamil gangsters. Apart from the leading man, the film’s cast has performers like Siddhi Idnani, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav, Siddique, Delhi Ganesh, and many more. The movie is an A. R. Rahman musical.

Menon wrote the script of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu in addition to performing his helming duties. Vels Film International produced the project, with Red Giant Movies handling the distribution. It will arrive on Prime Video on October 13. Stay tuned for more updates.
