Venom 2 and Ghostbusters Afterlife Gets an Exciting Sequel Update

Sony Pictures CinemaCon of 2022 has kicked off many promising titles. The event which was held in Las Vegas this Monday evening has unveiled many forthcoming projects of the studio. From Brad Pitt’s “Bullet Train” to Viola Davis “Women King” the studio has revealed more details about their movies which will hit theaters in the near future. The studio has also officially greenlit the sequels of “Venom 2” and “Ghostbusters Afterlife” which made good response on the Box office.

Venom: Let There be Carnage” the second part of Tom Hardy starrer Venom has globally collected a whooping 500 million dollars. The first part of the movie had also performed well in the box office and it was obvious the alien symbiote will have a third movie completing his trilogy and it is now confirmed at Sony’s CinemaCon in a small reel shown at the event.

The another hit of Sony’s past year was the “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” which witnessed the return of the original cast members of the 1980’s movies like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Annie Potts along with Paul Rudd, Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard the movie became a sensational success after the studios attempt to reboot the movie in 2016 which apparently became a disaster. The film has collected 200 million dollars making it as the third most grossed movie for Sony behind Venom 2 and Spiderman No Way Home.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife was a great move from the studio by learning from the fall with Ghostbusters reboot in 2016. Ghostbusters Afterlife followed the original 1980’s Ghostbusters storyline and it worked for them. Venom 2, which was a huge box office success, faced lots of criticism from audiences and critics. The not-so-great plot of the story affected the movie. But since Sony introduced Venom into MCU we can expect a Venomverse or a future encounter with Spiderman.

Sony is also in the works of developing their own Spiderverse and they have also started the works by announcing many Spiderman Spin-off movies like “Kraven the Hunter”, “Madame Web” and most recently “El Muerto” which announced in the CinemaCon. “Morbius” which also comes under this has already hit the cinemas but hasn’t made the intended results. Nevertheless, when seeing the bigger picture fans are really excited for Venom 3.

The release date and other details of both Venom 3 and Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel hasn’t been revealed yet. It is expected Sony will announce other details of the movie very soon.
