‘Chhava’ teaser was unveiled in theatres with ‘Stree 2’ a few days ago but if you didn’t get a chance to catch it there don’t worry, it’s out on YouTube now and you definitely shouldn’t miss it!
A historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, ‘Chhava’ revolves around the wars between the Marathas and the Mughal Empire during Aurangzeb’s reign.
In the teaser, Sambhaji (played by Vicky Kaushal) is seen dealing with the enemy’s army as a brave warrior whose valour is unmatched. We also get a glimpse of an almost unrecognisable Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb.
The action sequences shown in ‘Chhava’ teaser are epic and monumental and Vicky Kaushal looks phenomenal in the character. The intensity, the grit, the aura, there’s everything. The ‘Uri’ fame is definitely proving himself as an actor who can do any genre and also do it right. Whether it’s action, comedy, romance or grooving to ‘Tauba Tauba’, he is doing it all.
‘Chhava’ is dieredted by Laxman Utekar and is his second collaboration with Vicky Kaushal after ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. Utekar is known for his films like ‘Luka Chuppi’, ‘Mimi’ and more. He has also served as the cinematographer for films like ‘English Vinglish’, ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘Hindi Medium’ and more.
In addition to Kaushal and Khanna, ‘Chhava’ also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Neil Bhoopalam, and Santosh Juvekar among others. The film is written by Rishi Virmani and has music by A. R. Rahman.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan in though his Maddock Films, ‘Chhava’ is set to release in cinemas on 6th December, 2024 and that means a big clash with Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. ‘Chhava’ is co-produced by Sharada Karki and Pooja Prem Patheja.
