The curiosity quotient among cinephiles for Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming biographical war drama movie ‘Sam Bahadur’ is quite high. The movie is all set for its theatrical release on 1st December, thereby clashing with another eagerly anticipated film ‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor.
As you all know, ‘Sam Bahadur’ is based on the life of war hero Sam Manekshaw, who was the chief of the Army staff of the Indian Army during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. He was also the first Indian Army officer who was promoted to the Field Marshal rank. After a fantastic response from fans after the film’s teaser was released some time back, the makers have now unveiled the movie’s full trailer.
‘Sam Bahadur’ trailer showcases the film’s lead actor Vicky Kaushal’s acting prowess in a big way and how brilliantly he has immersed himself while playing a legendary and illustrious real-life character. Besides Vicky Kaushal’s impeccable body language and getup, the film’s period look is nicely done. Sam Manekshaw’s interactions with former PM Indira Gandhi, particularly where he talks about the difference between intentions and abilities, are also well executed. It looks like Meghna Gulzar, with whom Visky Kaushal previously collaborated for the spy thriller ‘Raazi’, has given him the role of a lifetime which he truly deserved.
‘Sam Bahadur’ movie focuses on the decorated military career of the 1971 war hero Sam Manekshaw and reminds us how he dedicated his life to the nation spanning more than four decades and five wars. And how his outstanding leadership during the 1971 India Pakistan war had played an important role in the creation of Bangladesh.
In addition to ‘Uri’ actor Vicky Kaushal, ‘Sam Bahadur’ also features Sanya Malhotra (as his wife), Fatima Sana Shaikh (as former PM Indira Gandhi), Neeraj Kabi (as former PM Jawaharlal Nehru), Zeeshan Ayyub (as Yahya Khan), and Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), amongst others.
