Victor Banerjee Makes His Comeback In Indian Films After A long Break

Noted Bengali actor Victor Banerjee who has starred in Hollywood movies like ‘A Passage To India’ and Bollywood masterpieces like ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’ by Satyajit Ray is making his comeback again in Indian films after a long time.

Victor Banerjee and Subrata Dutta will next be seen in ‘Josef – Born In Grace’ directed by debutant director Susant Misra. The film was initially released in 2019 and gathered great reviews in various international film festivals. It is going to have a proper theatrical release once again because it missed the proper audience reaction it expected due to Covid. The music of the film is given by Kisaloy roy.

It is the adaptation of a short story ‘Joseph’ by Umakanta Mahapatra. It tells the story about an orphan who is sent away to a parish by his guardian. A pastor, Father O’Hara looks after him. Josef, the orphan, grows up to be a talented cook as well as an alcoholic. It is a story of growing up and a spiritual development of all the characters present in the film.

Victor Banerjee plays the pastor in the movie and his performance was appreciated in different film festivals. His movie ‘Thinking Of Him’ where Victor plays the role of Rabindranath Tagore is an Argentine movie that is being eagerly awaited by fans till now. His ‘The Answer’, a 2018 film where he played the role of spiritual guru Paramhansa Yogananda won 17 major international awards and 48 nominations.
