It seems like Hulu has no stopping in rolling out one potentially promising series after the other. Just after renewing “Only Murders in the Building” for a season two and inching closer to the release of Andrew Garfield’s “Under the Banner of Heaven” , there’s another promising show under the umbrella of Hulu. And none other than Victoria Pedretti has been signed on to star in the series titled “Saint X”.
Based on the Alexis Schaitkin novel of the same name, the show is best described as a psychological drama narrated via multiple timelines and through multiple perspectives. The show follows a young woman’s mysterious death amidst a Caribbean vacation and the ripples the trauma instills on the surviving sister thereby pulling her to traverse a dangerous pursuit of truth and justice. Pedretti plays Emily, the surviving sister whose near perfect life crumbles post the traumatic incident.
“Saint X”, designed as an eight-episode show is written and executive produced by Leila Gerstein. Gerstein previously worked with Hulu on “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Looking for Alaska.” Dee Rees takes on the direction while also executive producing this ABC Studios’ production.
Pedretti returns to star in a major streaming platform TV role post her most recently acclaimed turn as Love Quinn in the hit Netflix series “You” that already spanned several seasons. She is also best known for starring in Netflix’s “The Haunting of Hill House” and it’s followup “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” She also appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood.”
