Back in the year, 2021, it was revealed that acclaimed Indian actress Vidya Balan was to star in a romantic comedy movie alongside ‘Scam 1992’ actor Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in the lead roles. Yesterday, the ‘Kahaani’ actress shared a cryptic post about the film, whose title has now been revealed as ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’.
Moreover, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ has also received its release date. The upcoming movie will be released in theatres on 29th March 2024. The film is based on the original film ‘The Lovers’ and it has been helmed by ad filmmaker Shirsha Guha Thakurta in her feature film directorial debut.
Although the precise plot details about the movie are currently not confirmed, the romantic comedy-drama was being touted as an inhibited take on contemporary relationships.
Besides Vidya Balan, who was last seen in ‘Neeyat’ and ‘Jalsa’, the film boasts of a talented cast. That includes Pratik Gandhi, who became an overnight sensation after Hansal Mehta’s highly rated web series ‘Scam 1992’ was released on the SonyLIV OTT platform.
Moreover, the film would also feature Indian origin American actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is known for his roles in sci-fi series ‘Heroes’, ‘Covert Affairs’, and the Netflix comedy-drama show ‘Never Have I Ever’. This is not the first time the Texas-based actor will be acting in an Indian project. Previously, ‘The Family Man’ director duo Raj & DK had cast him in an important role for their film ‘Shor in the City’.
‘Barfi’ actress Ileana D’Cruz is also playing one of the lead roles in the movie. And besides ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’, Pratik Gandhi’s forthcoming acting projects also include ‘Dedh Bigha Zameen’ and ‘Who Ladki Hai Kahan?’, amongst others.
