Disney Plus Hotstar has lined up a delectable treat for fans of action thrillers, especially the Vidyut Jammwal kind. The action star’s next film ‘Sanak‘ premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar on 15th October, a power+packed Dussehra offering from the streamer. The trailer of the film just dropped on the platform, and by the first looks of it, Sanak promises an action extravaganza like none other.
The narrative is strikingly similar to films like the Die Hard franchise, an invasion thriller that allows the lead protagonist to show off his action moves while eliminating the invaders one by one. The hospital setting of Sanak lends poignancy to the proceedings. Vidyut Jammwal has converted the action genre to an art form, as can be seen in his previous films like Commando and Force. The actor, who’s a mixed martial arts maestro, has built up a reputation for doing films brimming with fast-paced action, where the lead actor pummels the bad guys by the dozen. Incidentally, Sanak is from the same producers that made the aforementioned films.
Sanak is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sunshine Pictures, along with co-producers Zee Studios. It has been directed by Kanishka Varma, from a script written by Ashish P. Verma. Sanak stars Vidyut Jammwal, Neha Dhupia, Rukmini Maitra, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Chandan Roy (of Panchayat fame) and Amole Gupte in prominent roles.
