Beast wants to be a PAN India film by dubbing itself in 5 languages. PAN India is currently a gimmick for most films leaving aside a few examples such as Pushpa: The Rise or RRR. But the makers are so desperate to release their films in all the languages that they either do pathetic dubbing or end up losing more than they invested.
We all know that Gangubai Kathiawadi was also released in Telugu but it performed terribly in that. So applies to Ravi Teja’s Khiladi and Ajith Kumar’s Valimai which were pathetic if not a complete disaster in Hindi. But at least the effort was out of hope.
Needless to say, Hindi speaking audience doesn’t know Tamil or Telugu and so applies to the Telugu audience who are not very sound in Hindi, especially Bhansali films dialogues. But consider for one moment that Bollywood makers start dubbing their films in Haryanvi or Bhojpuri.
It would not make any sense because the native speakers of those languages are extremely comfortable in Hindi.
Our Malayalam audience on Twitter clearly says that they have a fine understanding of Tamil. So much so that they can fully understand a Tamil film in its original audio still makers dub them in Malayalam. Normally, the Malayalam dubbing of any film is done pathetically and the Keralites are very familiar with the original voices of Tamil actors.
So long story short, just for taking that fancy tagline of PAN India film, makers are dubbing Beast in Malayalam and Hindi too. But in both cases, there is barely any chance for the film to perform anything appreciable.
