Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda is eagerly awaiting the theatrical release of his forthcoming pan-India film – Liger. Now, an interesting report pertaining to the OTT release prospect of Liger has surfaced on the internet and it sure does sound intriguing. As per reports, Amazon Prime Video has paid a sensational amount of money for the post theatrical digital streaming rights of Liger.
It is reported that Amazon Prime Video has shelled out a fortune to acquire the digital streaming rights of Liger and the film will be premiering on the platform weeks after its theatrical release.
Well, Amazon Prime got a glimpse of the potential of Telugu cinema with Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa: The Rise which greatly boosted the branding image of the platform, thanks to the fact that it garnered great viewership from all the major regional pockets in the country. Now, they appear to have snapped up the digital streaming rights of another exciting pan-India project from Tollywood – Liger.
Neither Amazon Prime Video nor the makers of Liger have confirmed the news though. But given Amazon’s aggressive nature when it comes to pocketing big-ticket South Indian films, it is not too hard to comprehend that they might have indeed bagged the film.
Liger is a sports drama based on the sport of boxing. The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh and it has Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead roles.
