Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger Not An OTT Friendly Film?

Happening Hero of Telugu film industry, Vijay Deverakonda is shooting for his first Pan-India film, Liger. The movie directed by Puri Jagannadh resumed its shooting in Mumbai today after the Lockdown. The makers have announced releasing the film on September 9th as a Vinayaka Chaturthi special.

We have previously discussed why Liger can be a hot cake for the OTT platforms but there are other theories that contradict that. A few experts say that the movie may not be made for the OTT audience as they prefer content-driven films. Liger is more of a mass commercial film. Such films may not have a connection to the OTT platforms.

Sources say that Liger is the costliest film in Vijay Deverakonda’s career and the delay due to the Pandemic has made the film a financial risk. Liger is set to release in 5 languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Produced by Dharma Productions in association with Puri Connects, Liger will have Vijay Deverakonda seen as a Boxer. Bollywood Babe Ananya Pandey is romancing the actor in this movie. Ananya Panday herself is yet to prove herself in terms of box office numbers, post the Khaali-Peeli debacle. Let us see how the film pans out for Vijay as well as Ananya.
