After a painful delay of 5 years, Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Maamanithan’ finally saw the light of the day on 23rd June. The Seenu Ramasamy directorial reunited with Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi after the 2016 film Dharma Durai in Maamanithan. The streaming rights of the film was acquired by Aha Tamil. The film will stream on the platform from July 15th, i.e from this friday.
Maamanithan is a riveting tale of an ordinary man in extraordinary situations. The film follows the story of Radhakrishnan, a humble auto driver who is content with his life that revolves around his auto, his wife Savithri and children. In order to admit his children into a private school to improve their standard of education, he makes a deal with a real estate businessman Madhavan. Things turn upside down when he gets conned by Madhavan.
Maamanithan is produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja under his YSR Productions banner. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Gayathrie, KPAC Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram and Shaji Chen in major roles. In addition to production, Yuvan Shankar Raja also composed the soundtrack of this film along with his father, Ilaiyaraaja. The cinematography and editing were handled by M. Sukumar and A. Seekar Prasad.
Maamanithan received positive reviews from critics, but was not really a success at the box-office. However, once the movie is out on streaming, the audience mostly likely will whole heartedly receive the film. The film will stream on Aha Tamil from July 15th, 2022. Stay tuned for more updates.
