Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s ‘Vikram’ starring legendary actor Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya released worldwide at the movies on 3rd June. The film has been breaking and making records at the Tamilnadu box office as expected but what you didn’t see coming is the rampage ‘Vikram’ has unleashed at the Kerala Box Office!
Well, we will tell you what are the records broken by Vikram at KBO. In just two days, Vikram broke the record of Master and became the Highest grossing Tamil Film in the post-covid era. It also holds the record of biggest weekend collection for any Tamil film in the state for now. All it took for Vikram to occupy the throne of ‘The Highest Grossing Tamil Film in Kerala’ was five days. Several verified trackers reported on how ‘Vikram’ dethroned Vijay starrer ‘Bigil’ directed by Atlee. The other Tamil films that make it to top 5 are : Shankar’s ‘Ai’, Atlee’s ‘Mersal’ and Shankar’s ‘2.0’.
Isn’t it amazing? Well it is. But it isn’t surprising at all. Kamal Haasan has always been a favourite for Malayali audience. They’ve always loved him as one of their own. Vikram is a proper commercial come-back vehicle for the star Kamal Haasan, although the actor Kamal Haasan never ever had a dull moment.
Looking at the dream-run Vikram is having at the South Indian box-office in general, it wouldn’t be a reach to claim that these are few of the many records the film will breach in coming days.
