It’s been more than seven long months since the Hindi version of the neo-noir action thriller movie ‘Vikram Vedha’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan hit the big screens. Movie buffs, especially those who were unable to catch it in theatres, have been waiting with bated breath for the film’s OTT release.
As you all know, ‘Vikram Vedha’ is set to premiere on the JioCinema OTT platform. And now, the stakeholders have confirmed that the movie will start streaming on JioCinema from 12th May (coming Friday) onwards. And the best part is that you can watch it for free on the JioCinema streaming service!
Helmed by the husband-wife writer-director duo Pushkar-Gayathri, ‘Vikram Vedha’ is inspired by the immensely popular Indian folktale Vikram-Betaal. The film’s plot revolves around the two titular characters – a tough and upright police officer Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) and a dreaded gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan). The story starts off with Vedha voluntarily surrendering himself to the cops. The goings-on take an interesting turn when Vedha begins to play mind games with Vikram by narrating different stories that makes the cop rethink about the concept of good and evil.
Following its theatrical release, ‘Vikram Vedha’ garnered positive feedback from critics and was admired by a huge segment of audiences as well. Despite being a well-crafted film, ‘Vikram Vedha’ still failed to set the box-office on fire. However, the movie is expected to perform quite well on OTT, considering the fan following of the two lead performers, its positive feedback, and because it will also be streaming for free on JioCinema.
