The latest news from Kollywood is that much awaited biggie ‘Cobra‘ starring Vikram in lead role is postponed. The film was initially set to release worldwide on August 11th, but according to latest reports the film is pushed to a different date for now. However, we are yet to know the new release date of the film.
Some of the trackers have reported on Cobra’s postponement.
Although a detailed confirmation on the postponement is not revealed as of yet, incomplete VFX work is said to be the most prominent reason for the same.
However, postponement of Cobra gives an added advantage to other Tamil releases that week. If speculations are right Dhanush’s ‘Thiruchitrambhalam’ or Karthi’s ‘Viruman’ will prepone their releases to August 11th. The news of Cobra postponement also comes soon after Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies acquired the distribution of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Red Giant Movies were also in charge of Tamil distribution of R Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial Cobra. Now this would give an added advantage to Laal Singh Chaddha as Red Giant Movies withdrew from a clash with itself. This scenario reminds us of how Pen Studios initially clashed with Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR and averted the clash at the end with itself. August 11 release was quite alarming for the film anyways as it was directly clashing with Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan in hindi markets.
There’s little to no details on when will Cobra be finally released. Long in the making, VFX heavy film Cobra started production in the year 2019. The film releases in Tamil,Telugu and Hindi languages. Cobra stars an ensemble cast featuring Vikram in lead role alongside Srinidhi Shetty in her Tamil debut, Irfan Pathan, Miya George, Roshan Mathew, Sarjano Khalid, Padmapriya, Mohammad Ali Baig, Kaniha, Meenakshi ans K S Ravikumar in supporting roles. Stay tuned for more updates.
