The Telugu version of Keecha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona is all set to release on Disney+Hotstar. There is no news about the release of the Hindi and Tamil dubbed versions.
Vikrant Rona was initially streamed on Zee5 And it did a decent business as the theatrical release was successful too. But there is no certainty that it will be viewed with that hype on Hotstar too. Most people have already seen the movie and it has been available on Zee5 for a long time.
Earlier this year, Zee5 and Disney+ Hotstar came together with two movies. RRR was previously released on Zee5 after the historical success worldwide. Then it streamed on Disney+Hotstar too and it had a decent viewership there also. Kamal Hassan’s massive comeback movie Vikram was initially streamed on Disney+Hotstar but then again it was available to watch on Zee5 also.
There is confusion about how the second streaming will be successful for Vikrant Rona. The film has already gained a decent viewership on Zee5. There are no dubs in other Indian languages except for Telugu and that can be a huge determining factor for gaining an audience. The previous joint ventures, RRR and Vikram, were simultaneously released in many languages.
However, the partnership among these two giant platforms shows a positive curve in the graph of entertainment in Indian OTT and we hope for more.
