Vir Das Surprised With a Token of Love From Parle India for His Parle-G Set on His Netflix Special, for India

Vir-Das-Surprised-With-a-Token-of-Love-From-Parle-India-for-His-Parle-G-Set-on-His-Netflix-Special,-for-India
Vir Das had a quirky surprise waiting for him at his doorstep yesterday. It was a gift from Parle India, the makers of India’s favourite biscuit, Parle-G. And guess what the gift was? Well, it was a box containing Parle-G biscuits!

So why did Parle India send across a box full of Parle-G biscuits to Vir Das? Allow us to enlighten you.

Vir Das has been receiving rave reviews from audiences for his latest stand up special on Netflix, called Vir Das For India. Viewers are loving his authentic, straight-from-the-heart take on India and all the things that make this country the quirky delight it is.

One of the things that Vir Das has focused on in his show, is our love for the iconic Parle-G biscuit. Right from the start of the special, to the very end, we see him sipping chai from an earthen kulhad, and then chomping on Parle-G biscuits dipped in the chai – exactly like all of us love to do. After all, we’re Indians and we are like this only.

He even goes to the extent of showing the middle finger to the ‘cookies’, so loved by foreigners, effectively saying, you can keep your cookies, give us our Parle-G any day.

Parle India’s marketing team was quick to pounce on the opportunity for some great PR. And they sent over a box of Parle-G biscuits, with a cute note telling him to enjoy his chai and Parle-G.
