Vision Series: Elizabeth Olsen’s Return Fuels ‘WandaVision’ Trilogy Speculation

Elizabeth Olsen’s rumoured return in Paul Bettany’s Vision series has certainly spiced things up for Marvel fans, as some of them now strongly believe that the upcoming Disney+ series could serve as the final entry of the unannounced ‘WandaVision’ trilogy.

WandaVision was the first official series produced by Marvel Studios, separate from the Marvel Television unit, which comprised the studio’s popular Netflix shows such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and more and ABC shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Agent Carter. Under the creative direction of Matt Shakman (who also happens to be directing The Fantastic Four: First Steps), WandaVision turned out to be a breath of fresh air for the MCU, praised especially for the leading duo’s take on Vision and Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch), its creative direction, unique storylines, and seamless blending of familiar sitcom tropes with unexpected twists and turns.

The events of WandaVision’s finale are the reason for the existence of Agatha All Along, created by WandaVision’s head writer Jac Schaeffer. This series will explore Agatha’s origins and focus on her perilous journey to regain her lost powers. Given the latest reports of Olsen’s rumoured return in Vision, we could see Agatha All Along laying the foundation for the next Paul Bettany starrer. Marvel Studios has yet to provide any confirmation about this scenario, so we should not get our hopes high right now.

Deadline first broke the news of Elizabeth Olsen’s highly anticipated return to the MCU via the Vision series. It is possible that both Olsen and Kathryn Hahn could appear in the show. However, we should keep in mind that Vision will come out in 2026, nearly two years after Agatha All Along, which is serving as the second entry to what’s turning out to be a WandaVision trilogy. Plenty of fans have theorised that the events of Agatha All Along will result in the resurrection of the Scarlet Witch, a scenario that should make the character an integral part of the Vision series. Stay tuned for more updates.
