Singing icons Harry Styles, Lady Gaga and Nick Jonas have been tapped to appear in Marvel’s X-men reboot, portraying significant characters. Harry Styles in Dunkirk, Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born and Nick Jonas in the Jumanji film series (among others); all three singers have already gotten acclaim for their acting gigs, and could very well do a stellar job in the upcoming Superhero project.
Ever since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox Studios over a year ago, Marvel Studios has been planning for an X-men reboot. With the subsequent return of the cinematic properties of X-men, Deadpool and the Fantastic Four, Marvel has been planning to incorporate the aforementioned intellectual properties into their extended Cinematic Universe.
Harry Styles is said to be playing the mutant Pyro, while Lady Gaga has been tapped to portray the telepathic White Queen – Emma Frost and Nick Jonas is expected to play Havok. All three characters are expected to play bigger roles than in their previous outings. Marvel have been looking to acquire these singer-actors for their projects sometime now and rumor has it that they are very close to penning over the dotted line.
But Marvel head, Kevin Feige has been extremely silent when it comes to the introduction of these characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). All we have are these rumors, which also include with a possibility of everyone’s favourite fourth-wall breaking mercenary anti-hero Deadpool to join the MCU through one of the new Thor or Spider-man films. All we can do now is wait and watch.
