WandaVision Trailer Breaks Records Left, Right And Centre!!!

The trailer for the much anticipated Disney+ and Marvel collaborated web-series ‘WandaVision’ has dropped and it has gotten over 55 million views in just 24 hours. The WandaVision trailer has reached a level of traction that only trailers released during Superbowl like ‘Avengers’ and ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise received in these past few days.

In fact it beat a lot of trailers featured in this year’s Super Bowl, such as ‘Black Widow’ (which had 18.7 million views in 24 hours), Disney’s latest live-action adaptation ‘Mulan’ (12.4 million), the next James Bond film ‘No Time To Die’ (10.1 million), among many others. In fact, it beat a lot of previous year’s popular trailers like the teasers for Avengers:Infinity War (30.9 million) and the 2nd season of Stranger Things (28.2 million).

The ‘WandaVision’ trailer dropped on Sunday, during the 2020 Emmys Awards ceremony; the awards show itself breaking a record of its own, hitting an all new low of 6.1 million viewers. In fact, the trailer has more views in 24 hours than the Emmys did in it’s latest three editions. Although to be fair to the award show, the Emmys was one of the largest watched live events that lasted over 3 hours, after the coronavirus pandemic struck worldwide.

The 80 second teaser trailer got most of its views on YouTube (just over 36 million views). The rest of the views come from other social media platforms such as Instagram (10.1 million) and Facebook (4.9 million), as well as TikTok and Twitter. The trailer which started trending immediately on Sunday, has reached #4 spot on twitter while climbing to #2 spot on YouTube’s most trending videos.

The series, which is supposed to be a part of Marvel’s Phase 4 in it’s Cinematic Universe, is set to release during December and will have 6 episodes. Here is the trailer down below:
