Ever since the sensational hit of Matt Reeves Batman, everybody is waiting for more from the new Batman universe. And a couple of spin-offs were hatching in the background, Warner Bros has confirmed in a press release that they are expanding the universe of Matt Reeves and Oswald aka Penguin will get a limited series run as a part of it. Colin Farrell will be returning as the Penguin in the series.
Colin Farrell’s amazing makeover and the return of the Penguin after Micheal Keaton’s Batman, Penguin had attracted the headlines even before the movie. And now witnessing the movie Penguin had quite some gritty moments with the caped crusader. And the ending of the movie had set something really big for him.
Fans had speculated that Penguin will return after the movie created some opportunity for Penguin to become the next crime lord of Gotham city, the upcoming series will be looking at this situation. Farrell expressed his excitement about returning to play the character, saying that the series will explore Oswald “as he rises through the darkened ranks to become The Penguin.”
The studio has also revealed that the show will hire Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, and Farrell as the executive producers of the show. The GCPD show which was also on the list of upcoming series will not be coming to the small screen as WB confirmed previously.
