Hoichoi took quite an interesting decision in adapting Mohishasur Mordini as a series on OTT and it has turned out as a decent success indeed. But there were probably more chances for the show that went in vain because of bad marketing.
The show gathered quite a large number of audiences but it seems that most of the views were from Bengalis who are living outside Bengal or India. For locals, the TV programs and the original radio program still holds much value. But audiences have compared the Mohishasur Mordini of Hoichoi and those of the TV channels and have said that the Hoichoi one is without any speck of doubt better than all them. But still it has limited itself by Promoting it as a series.
There were some limitations in the trailer itself, like the Bengali translation of ‘Ayi Giri Nandini’, which was not liked by people. These could have been avoided in the trailer and then people would have been more intrigued. There were not many posters and hoardings around cities too, like there usually are for other Hoichoi movies and shows.
If the show could have been promoted better, it would have turned out to be a bigger success. And a platform like Hoichoi could have gone even further and tried to approach the Hindi audience too with a dubbed version.
