Was Marvel’s Message Too Late? …Or Too Early?

By Binged Bureau - May 05, 2021 @ 09:05 am

Almost 48 hours ago, Marvel Entertainment dropped a video that we did not expect, but we all have been patiently waiting for – A video celebrating the return of the movies. Aptly titled ‘Marvel Studios Celebrates The Cinemas’, the video takes us through a montage of short clips from various Marvel movies. But with the world going through the second spread/ wave of the Covid-19 virus, has Marvel released this video a little too late? Or, since the dates for the Marvel movies are still quite far away – too early?

The video/ teaser was truly spectacular, no doubt about it. If you are a true Marvel fan, then the video will surely have given you goosebumps (We are using the past tense here, because most Marvel fans would have seen this teaser, multiple times already). As mentioned earlier, the “celebration video” takes us through various clips from the Marvel movies. Stan Lee’s iconic voice voices over this video while the montage starts by showing the various close relationships between major MCU characters. With the words, “YOU WILL REMEMBER FOREVER”, we are shown the epic entrance of all the heroes towards the end of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ with Steve Rogers finally saying the two words we have been waiting for (we are not going to say it). And the best part – we are shown a theatre audience’s reaction while this part comes on-screen, making it even more epic. Seriously. GOOSEBUMPS.

We reach that part hallway through the trailer and we have to admit, it is pretty compelling and a bit of a tear-jerker. That scene shows how many of us have missed the cinemas and we can’t wait to watch another Marvel movie on the big screen again. But with the next Marvel movie (Black Widow) set to come out on July 9th 2021, we can’t help but feel that Marvel may have jumped the gun a bit here. Still, if we are lucky, the second wave will be done by the time July rolls around. Otherwise, we are looking at another long wait ahead. Unless ‘Black Widow’ will come on Disney+ for USD 30, without waiting for a theatrical release. Who knows?

The video also showed us the much anticipated first look of the multi-starrer, ‘The Eternals’. And it was brilliant. We also got some extra short clips from ‘Black Widow’ and ‘Shang Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings’. We finally got the release dates for most of the MCU Phase 4 movies including the three above-mentioned ones alongside ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’, ‘Doctor Strange in The Multitude of Madness’, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, ‘The Marvels’, ‘Antman and The Wasp: Quantumania’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3’. Check out this epic video, down below:
