Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer of Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring Henry Cavill. Apart from the former Man of Steel, the film stars the likes of Eiza Gonzalez, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and many more talents. It will arrive in theatres on April 19, 2024.
Guy Ritchie’s upcoming feature directional is based on a true story about the foundation of the secret British World War II organisation: the Special Operations Executive. Former UK Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, was responsible for founding the organisation to gain an edge over the Germans, led by Adolf Hitler. The emergence of the Special Operations unit not only helped change the course of the war but also resulted in the birth of modern black operations.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare takes inspiration from Damien Lewis’ novel ‘Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII’. Paramount Pictures acquired the novel’s rights back in 2015. However, Lionsgate acquired the rights in 2023, and is also handling the film’s US distribution.
Prominent producer Jerry Bruckheimer has co-produced the film, alongside Guy Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films and Black Bear Pictures.
Apart from The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, The Witcher fame Henry Cavill will also appear in Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle this year. Moreover, the actor is busy filming an action project, which is under the directional control of Guy Ritchie too. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the trailer below!
