With a lot of International and Indian acting heavyweights shifting from theatrical releases to OTT based projects due to popular demand, the trend has even caught up with the South Indian movie industries. This trend has been popular even before the Covid-19 pandemic, but the lockdown has just accelerated the rapid shift in film movement.
With popular Telugu actor Chiranjeevi planning to debut in a web-series, other Tollywood big-wigs have started to take notice. And one such individual is Dear Comrade’s Vijay Deverakonda. As per latest media reports, Deverakonda is all set to produce a new web-series and make his debut on the digital platform.
Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Reddy is said to have written the script for this new show. Both Sandeep and Vijay have projects which are in various stages down the pipeline but can’t finish them because their projects are supposed to be theatrically released movies and they can’t be shown in cinemas anytime soon. So they have decided to collaborate on the web-series together.
Vijay Deverakonda’s brother Anand is set to feature in the web series as it’s main protagonist. The brothers are a tight-knit duo, who share a home and collaborate almost every project with each other. The collaborative team has already initiated talks with a popular OTT platform and is hashing out the minor details. The series is expected to start shooting from the end of this year.
We are still awaiting an official announcement from the production house.
