After the World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Chloe Okuno‘s horror thriller “Watcher”, is slated to hit the theatres on June 3, 2022. “Watcher” stars Maika Monroe as Julia, a young lady who shifts to a new flat with her fiance (Karl Glusman).
The trailer wakes up everyone with a shivering tremor as we watch Julia getting inflicted with anguish and terror as she feels that she is getting stalked by a stranger in the adjacent building. It follows with Julia waking up in the middle night, and then she goes towards the window for a casual viewing, comes across a vague image of a guy standing in the adjacent building, creepily staring at her.
After this incident she tells her husband that “he’s been watching us since we moved in”, to which Francis( Karl) replies jokingly that the man has a crush on her. The teaser trailer reach to a sort of a climax at this point, building up tension, giving us an insinuation that the story isn’t merely a tale of a stalker and serial killer. We see Julia saying ““you’re not really looking in here are you?”
After this we come across a serial killer, named as Spider, who is seen stalking and gashing women’s throats ultimately decapitating them. Then we visualise a montage of shots portraying Julia, her emotions intensified, walking around the city, trying to seek out for answers. We comes across an interesting shot of a dead person lying still in a chair, making us question that who committed this crime, Spider? Leaving us in suspense and thrill.
The trailer ends with Julia walking towards a door half opened, and sees a dark indistinct person standing inside, leaving us in shudder and wide anticipation as to what is going to happen.
