Watch These Beautiful Indian Films Directed By Women Filmmakers!

Luck By Chance (2009) – Netflix:

Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance stars Farhan Akhtar and Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead roles and has countless cameos from big stars of Bollywood. The film tells a very realistic story of two actors struggling for a proper place in the Hindi film industry. It talks about how success changes people and takes the common Bollywood dream to a whole new level. With great songs and music and wonderful performance, Luck By Chance is a slow burn and perfectly establishes the protagonist as a grey character.

Manto (2018) – JioCinema:

One of the best biopics ever made in India, ‘Manto’ is a well researched biopic of the revolutionary author Saadat Hassan Manto. Nandita Das has always impressed us as actors, but she does a miracle with the direction of Manto. With stunning performances from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rasika Duggal, Ila Arun and more Manto will keep you engaged till the end. The film sews the stories written by Saadat beautifully into the film showing how the situations around him affect him and trouble him.

The Sky Is Pink (2019) – Netflix:

With films like Amu and Margarita With A Straw, Shonali Bose is definitely one of the best directors of Hindi films. Her Sky Is Pink tells the story of a teenage girl who is going to die soon because of a disease and she tells the story of the wonderful love story of her parents. The film has Zaira Wasim in the lead role and actors like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar, Rohit Suresh Saraf in important roles. The performances are top-notch and the music given by Pritam is wonderful. The film is based on My Little Epiphanies by Aisha Chaudhary which is actually a true story. You will find yourself in tears after watching The Sky Is Pink. So, give it a try this weekend.
