Who does not love a ‘feel good’ film? People love films blended with enough amounts of thrilling action, sci-fi elements, and heartwarming emotional drama. Their existence often reminds us that it is okay not to take cinema way too seriously. Sometimes, it feels better to watch a film that does not take itself too seriously but somehow manages to entertain us. One of those amazing films is Netflix’s The Adam Project, starring Ryan Reynolds.
The Adam Project is a time travel story based on the life of pilot Adam Reed (Reynolds), who gets injured while stealing an airship and accidentally enters the wrong timeline in 2022. Soon, he meets his 12-year-old self, played by Walker Scobell, who now stars in the Disney+ live-action Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The young Adam deals with the loss of his father, who died nearly a year ago. Soon, things get ugly after Maya Sorian (Catherine Keener) enters 2022 and starts wreaking havoc in both of their lives. She aims to monopolize the time travel in the film.
Ryan Reynolds, as usual, looks charming and, once again, manages to impress us with his witty humour and brilliant comic timing. Walker Scobell gives an outstanding performance as the young Adam. The rest of the cast, including Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Catherine Keener, do an amazing job, too. The movie provides plenty of action and heartfelt drama to viewers. Overall, it is a fun movie!
