Watch This Highly Underrated Steven Spielberg Film On Netflix

Treasuring a filmmaking career of nearly 59 years, Steven Spielberg is considered one of the all-time great helmers in Hollywood. Commencing his filmmaking journey from Firelight (1964) to spellbinding the audience again with his previous offering, The Fabelmans (2022), Spielberg has indeed travelled a long journey in the world of cinema. Amidst all his classic and iconic flicks, there are some movies that are brilliant but have yet to receive the recognition they actually deserve. One of those films is Munich (2005), which is currently available on Netflix.

Taking inspiration from George Jonas’ novel Vengeance (1984), Munich revolves around the Mossad assassinations after the Munich Olympics massacre. Led by Eric Bana, the film stars Daniel Craig, Ciaran Hinds, Ayelet Zurer, Geoffrey Rush, and many more talents.

Munich is a well-crafted feature courtesy of its director, the great Steven Spielberg. Despite dealing with a heavy subject, the helmer manages to balance the film’s action with its intense drama. In addition, he does not treat the film’s storyline like a standard tale of good versus evil. Instead, he dares to explore the moral ambiguity associated with the response of Israel’s government to the massacre.

In addition to benefitting from an outstanding direction, Munich also stands out due to its excellent production design and cinematography. Moreover, the film’s cast members give their all, particularly Eric Bana, who gives one of his best acting performances in this film.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Steven Spielberg’s Munich has a ‘fresh’ rating of 78% based on over 210 reviews. Stream it now on Netflix.
