Watch This Underrated Imran Khan Comedy On Netflix

Do you remember those days when ‘Bhaag D. K. Bose’ was the number one song on every Television set, mobile phone, and FM radio station in India? Yup, parents and the Indian Government hated it. But the country’s youth loved that song, and its movie, Delhi Belly (2011). This one is undoubtedly one of the best films of Imran Khan’s short-lived film career.

The Abhinay Deo directional revolves around a group of three roommates residing in Delhi – journalist Tashi (Imran Khan), cartoonist Arup (Vir Das), and photographer Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapur). Their lazy (and unhygienic) lives take a wild turn when a package containing diamonds gets replaced with stool samples. This scenario forces them to encounter loads of deadly gangsters and corrupt individuals. The trio constantly finds themselves in hilarious and high-stakes scenarios throughout the film. Brimmed with offbeat and bold humour, fast-paced storytelling, and chucklesome dialogues, the movie takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride.

Critics praised Delhi Belly for being different from traditional Bollywood films, bringing a wave of freshness to the industry. Yes, many considered it highly controversial at the time of its release. But the reception towards this underrated Imran Khan starrer has become more positive in recent years. Apart from Khan, Kapur and Das give brilliant performances in the film. As for Vijay Raaz, he steals the show right under the noses of his other cast members. Ram Sampath also gives highly entertaining music to the film.

During its theatrical run, the film earned over 114 crores against its 23 crore budget.

Led by Imran Khan, Delhi Belly is currently streaming on Netflix. Enjoy!
