The popular novel ‘Way of the Warrior Kid: From Wimpy to Warrior the Navy SEAL Way’ by Jocko Willink is soon going to have an adaptation for the big screens. The screenplay of the movie is written by Will Staples and it will be helmed by McG.
Chris Pratt is roped in to play the lead role in the movie. ‘From Wimpy To Warrior The Navy SEAL Way’ is the first book of the series and it tells the story of a fifth grader boy named Marc, who is bullied by a fellow classmate. His life does not go very smoothly, and suddenly he is visited by an uncle who is a Navy SEAL. During the vacations, his uncle Jake is going to transform into a warrior and this period is going to change Marc’s life forever. The novel is a tale of inspiration, hope and indomitable courage. And there is surely a huge audience waiting for these types of films.
The film will be produced by Ben Everard, McG, Mary Viola, Willink and Pratt himself. Chris Pratt has said, I’ve known Jocko Willink for a couple of years, so I was eager to read the script based on his series of children’s books. I believe in the power of storytelling and felt particularly called to the material. I have faith this film will help to shape today’s youth, putting them on the right path. Our young people need this movie. Making films like this is why I created Indivisible Productions.”
The release date and other details for the movie will be revealed later on.
