‘Wayward’: Mae Martin’s Intriguing Genre Shift Casts Big Names!

It is often not uncommon for personalities in the entertainment industry to switch it up once in a while. Not only do they dabble in multiple genres at the same time, they sometimes make a shift so great, their projects become highly anticipated ones. Canadian comedian, actor, and screenwriter Mae Martin has also made such a shift.

The BAFTA-nominated comedian has an exhilarating upcoming project: a thriller series ‘Wayward’. Not only did she create the limited show, but she will also be seen starring in it alongside a star-studded ensemble cast that includes ‘Suits’ famed Patrick J Adams, ‘Hereditary’ famed Emmy and Golden Globe awardee Toni Collette, Sydney Topliffe, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sarah Gadon and more.

Set in a bucolic town with secrets that are anything but pretty, the series explores the hideously dark underbelly of the troubled teen industry as well as the never-ending riffs between one generation and their successors.

Set to have an eight-episode long run, the show does not have a release date announced so far. Moreover, little is known about its plot, too. The images released by Netflix recently, however, are fairly chipper in comparison to the malevolent secrets the show seems to be hiding.

Nevertheless, all we know for sure is that the show will stream exclusively on Netflix (hopefully soon, too)!
