We Missed These Actors From Featuring As The Crow

The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders is about to be released on 30th August. The movie had been a dream project of the producer Edward R. Pressman. He had intended to remake The Crow (1989) and the early developments for the movie had started back in 2008. But the movie went through multiple complications and finally was finished in 2024. As the movie is about to release, the makers once again face problems in releasing the movie and the release has been delayed multiple times, the most recent date to be announced being 30th August.

As the movie progressed, many actors were cast as the lead role of The Crow and many had to quit till finally the movie was made with Bill Skarsgard playing Eric Draven. Originally Mark Walhberg was to play the role of Eric Draven but Bradley Cooper took the job later in 2011. Mark was again in rumors to play the role but later it was in talks about Channing Tunt, Ryan Gosling or James McAvoy to play the role. And further later Tom Hiddlestone was cast for the movie in 2013. A month later Luke Evans was reported to have been cast for the movie who was there for a couple of years. Finally Jack Houston was cast for the role till before the cancellation of the film was announced. Later the year Nicholas Hoult and Jack O’Connell were being considered for the role. In the end, Jason Momoa was cast for the movie and the filming was set to begin in January 2017. But Momoa exited the project in May 2018. Finally in 2020, the project was revived with Bill Skarsgard as the lead whose brother Alexandar was once in talk for the role.

The movie, thus disappointed many fans by casting and then cancelling many actors for the role and infuriated the fan base of those actors. It would have been interesting to see actors like Mark, Tom Hiddlestone or Luke Evans in the role as the looks of those actors in the character was appreciated a lot. In the end we have Bill as the actor for the role and we’ll just have to wait and see how he abides by the role.
