Web-Series Hasn’t Evolved as a Medium: Divyanka Tripathi

Television actress Divyanka Tripathi, who took the digital turn with a lead role in the series Cold Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, feels that web-series as a medium is still in the experimentation stage and there are no tricks to ensure the success of a digital show.

The charming lass had played the role of chef Nitya in the series that has met with mixed responses from the reviewers and audiences alike. She, however, admits to not being ready to go all-bold for content in the streaming space.

In an interview with the Indian Express, she shared, “I feel the webspace is still experimenting since we don’t know what exactly works in the medium. So every time sex or thrill works in a show, more similar projects are launched. Also, I feel that it’s not necessary to portray intimacy outright. Something should be left to the imagination of the audience. I also want to do content that the whole family can sit and watch it together.”
