Wednesday came out not only as the most successful part of the Addams family; it is one of the most successful ventures by Netflix. The stats say so, the fans say so, and the streaming giants accept.
But this time, Netflix is ditching its habit of canceling good shows, and they are planning to build on the success of the premiere season. After the strike ended, Wednesday updates started to flood the internet, and among them, some were related to the storyline, bringing excitement among the fans.
Firstly, Wednesday did have a change of location in terms of shooting. It will be moving from Romania to the land of Vikings, Ireland.
Wednesday’s executive producer, Steve Stark, had a chat with a media outlet regarding the future plans of the franchise and gave some exciting updates.
Season 2 of Wednesday remains shrouded in mystery as showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar suggest the introduction of more Addams family members. Jenna Ortega, also a producer for the season, hints at a deeper exploration of Wednesday’s relationship with her mother and a shift towards stronger horror elements over teen romance.
While specifics are elusive, producer Stark promises that “there will be a lot of surprises.”
The second season will definitely work on the popularity of the first season, moving towards a more complex storyline. And with more spices from the Addams family, Wednesday might be branching out and might solidify the universe.
