The fans of Malayalam cinema are spread across the country. We all love the insanely talented filmmakers who nail almost every aspect of filmmaking. Moreover, no film industry currently offers such good films on a consistent basis as Mollywood.
But, we have always had this complaint from Mollywood that they don’t really make big budget films. Yes, we do get great films but they are more like small budget art films, not something like RRR that would send ripples across the country.
But, it looks like Mollywood is trying. Mohanlal starrer Barroz is just on the verge of getting released.
The movie apart from Mohanlal stars Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos and more.
Germany based Malayali author George has sent a legal notice to the makers of Barroz. He claims the movie is based on the novel “Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure” by Jijo Punnoose along with his own novel called Maya.
The man sent the notice just weeks before the release and it is kind of shady. Maybe there is a sort of publicity demand from the novelist as well.
This matter is highly unlikely to blow up as it would die down soon. But, Barroz team has a whole new thing to tackle. Most important, what is important is to see whether people appreciate this mega budget experiment or not.
