Wendell Pierce Plays Perry White In Finn’s Superman

Superman’s legacy is going strong as casting nears its final stage, and Gunn is managing to gather the final pieces of the puzzle as DC executives hope for a brighter dawn and a day of sunshine.

Now, there is one more name added to the list: iconic actor Wendell Pierce, who will be playing the role of Perry White.

For those unfamiliar with the character, White is the gruff but dedicated Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Planet, demanding excellence from his reporters.

Pierce playing the role is indeed a good choice. The office environment isn’t new to him, and portraying a serious senior is a role in which he has always excelled.

Speaking of similar roles, he portrayed Robert Zane in Suits, a character with similar vibes to Perry White. Pierce excelled in that part, just as he did in The Wire, an iconic role that made him stand out during the prime television era.

Adding him to the DC universe will undoubtedly increase its credibility, as DC has already cast some major roles. With the team for Superman already stacked, if Gunn manages to make it work, DC will undoubtedly have a solid foundation.
