Wes Anderson’s Star-Studded Film ‘Asteroid City’ Gets a Release Date

After the star-studded anthology comedy drama movie ‘The French Dispatch’, Wes Anderson is now geared up for the release of his next film ‘Asteroid City’, which also boasts of a truly ensemble cast.

It has just been announced that ‘Asteroid City’ has been set for a limited theatrical release on 16th June 2023 before a more widespread theatrical release on 23rd June 2023. And in doing that, the film will face an interesting box-office clash with the eagerly anticipated DC superhero movie ‘The Flash’.

‘Asteroid City’ belongs to the romantic comedy genre and is set in the year 1955 in a fictional American desert town. The story focuses on how students and their parents from across the country come together for the Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention. But the goings-on are disturbed by world-changing events.

‘Asteroid City’ features a massive cast that includes the likes of Tom Hanks, Edward Norton, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Jeffrey Wright, Jason Schwartzman, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Rupert Friend, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, and Jeff Goldblum, amongst others.

Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner Wes Anderson, who is known for his distinctive narrative and visual cinematic sense, had made his directorial debut with the comedy crime film ‘Bottle Rocket’ (1996).
