The original on-screen Blade, Wesley Snipes, and his Maandi House Studios have forged a new partnership with PCB Entertainment and Gifted Rebels for a new comic book series, The Exiled.
The upcoming comic has Detective Niles “Roach” Washington as its protagonist. He is on a mission to hunt down a serial killer after the latter’s involvement in a devastating gas attack. Also, the killer is notorious for cutting and ripping the spines out of his victims’ bodies. What makes him crank is that he utilises 5,000 years old tools to do this horrible and unholy task. Roach has to battle his inner demons and fight against the darkness to get his hands on the killer.
Snipes formulated the idea for the comic’s storyline with Gifted Rebels’ Adam Lawson and the president of PCB Entertainment, Keith Arem. Gabriel Santos is responsible for handling the artwork. On the other hand, Valentina Bianconi has to inject colours into this one. And the entire comic book project will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign, scheduled to launch on June 21.
One of the most exciting features of The Exiled is the codes hidden inside the comic. These codes will bestow straight access to exclusive events to some of the readers. They may even bag some digital collectables.
“Comics let you explore big worlds. Since BLADE, I have been attracted to origin stories and developing characters,” Snipes stated recently. “Now, I get to build “Roach” as a character from the ground up and I dig that.”
Apart from The Exiled comic, Wesley Snipes is also busy filming “Back on the Strip” with Chris Spencer at the helm. It will release on June 23.
