In a recent interview Aamir Khan has been talking candidly about his failures and new strategy of making films. He is once again viral on the internet for taking the responsibility of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ being a flop. When asked about his decision of acting in so few films nowadays, he says that he is focusing on producing more films now.
Aamir Khan’s fans have always been frustrated over his decision of making one film in a year and the frequency went on to be one film in two/three years. His last films had been failures at the box office but the films that he backs without starring have been raging successes. The actor says that he will now be producing 4 to 5 films in a year and his motive will be to bring new talent to the industry. He says that he has hired Aparna Purohit as the manager of his production house especially for this reason.
While the industry has not been able to take a stance for or against nepotism, Aamir Khan seems to be wonderfully balancing on the very edge while satisfying his audiences. His son got launched by YRF and has a few anticipated titles coming soon. And on the other hand he himself is working towards producing films with more new faces.
As even a perfectionist like Sanjay Leela Bhanshali fell prey to controversy for casting his niece in a pivotal role in ‘Heeramandi’, we cannot deny that there is definitely a high dregree of nepotism not letting outsiders come to films. Aamir Khan’s initiative of backing raw and real talent from outside the industry should be encouraged more.
