After the big Puja clashes, three more films are coming out now. But these titles are not as big as the previous ones. One of them has been postponed many times for the sociopolitical turbulence in Bengal. It is ‘Jomaloye Jibonto Bhanu’, it is a tribute to comedian Bhanu Bandyopadhyay’s movie ‘Jomaloye Jibonto Manush’ and follows the plot of a man who finds himself in heaven, alive.
Another movie is ‘Kohinoor’ which is a science fiction flick starring Rajatava Dutta, Sourav Das and others. The other movie, ‘Sukanya’ does not seem to be a consequential one.
It does not seem probable that this clash will come out as profitable as the Tekka-Bohurupi clash had been. Apart from ‘Bhanu’ no other movie has any buzz at all and they are all due to release in a few days. Sourav Das has commented that with Kohinoor they have tried to up the game in science fiction a bit and they have made something new that children will like. It is true that people who like science fiction often skip Indian titles as they do not cater to their needs with expertise, but according to the makers of Kohinoor, this film will.
‘Jomaloye Jibonto Bhanu’ too seems to be quite vague in its narrative style, whether it is a biopic, or a remake of a popular movie and how it goes on with its storytelling. It is sure that this clash of three movies will not make much box office numbers, but there will be some new storytelling ideas that are never shown in Bengali films before.
