What’s Sony’s Plan Before Miles Morales?

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is a mixed bag of emotions. If Dickens were alive, he would have pointed it out as “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”.

The world of Spider-Man was dominated by our beloved Peter Parker for a very long time, but with a film like Spider-Verse, there is the rise of Miles Morales as the new fan favorite, and there are talks that we will be seeing him in a live adaptation.

But can you address Morales with a ‘See You Soon’ chant? Apparently not.

Though Amy Pascal and Sony want to work on a live adaptation, they have no plans to rush. Talking about the path to the Miles Morales film, they are planning to squeeze two movies in between.

The first one on the list is from the Spider-Verse franchise, Beyond the Spider-Verse. And the second one is from Tom Holland’s universe, His Super Man 4.

At the Oscars luncheon, Sony’s Pascal hinted that a live-action Miles Morales might not happen until two more Spider-Man films featuring Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Holland has considered stepping back from the role to make space for a new actor to portray Morales.

Sony remains focused on animated Spider-Verse projects for now, leaving Morales’ live-action debut uncertain, but again, the situation of uncertainty is at least better than messing something up.

The hype for Beyond The Spider-Verse is real as even Shameik Moore calls it the best film of the trilogy.

Though Sony did have its moments of glory, the downsides are more painful than the good. But again, it’s almost sure than we will be seeing a Miles Morales story, the only question remains, When?
